Kara3 (“the site”) is a subtitle editor that runs in your browser. This policy explains what data the site handles, where it is kept, and the choices you have.
Your subtitles and videos
The subtitle files, project files and videos you open, edit and export are handled only in your browser. They are never uploaded to the site or to any server. The site has no accounts and never asks for your name or email address.
Data kept in your browser
To make the editor work, the site keeps the following in your browser:
- Settings: theme, interface size, layout, volume and so on, in localStorage.
- Autosaved work: unsaved edits (with their undo history) and the list of recent files, in IndexedDB.
- Files for offline use: the site's own files, so it works without an internet connection, in the service worker cache.
This data stays on your device and the site cannot read it. You can clear it under Settings in the editor, or by clearing the site's data in your browser.
Google Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they view, so it can be improved. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your browser type, device, approximate region (estimated from your IP address) and the pages you view. The site never sends your subtitles, file names or videos to Google Analytics.

Ads
The site may show third-party ads such as Google AdSense. Ad vendors, including Google, use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of other vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
Cookies and your consent
Where the law requires consent first, such as in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the site asks whether you agree to cookies through a Google-certified consent management platform. Until you agree, Google Analytics and ads do not use cookies to identify you. You can change your choice at any time with “Privacy choices” at the bottom of the page.
YouTube player
When you open a YouTube video in the editor, the site embeds the YouTube player through the YouTube API Services. YouTube and Google may then collect data and use cookies, under the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Your subtitles are not sent to YouTube.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, Cloudflare may log connection details such as IP addresses and access times for security and operations. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Children
The site is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. Changes are published on this page, with a new date at the top.
